The Professional Lifeguard Foundation is a non-profit organization, founded in 1996, which provides scholarship awards to Los Angeles County Lifeguards who are enrolled in full-time college or graduate course work.
In 2006, the Professional Lifeguard Foundation inaugurated the Lifetime Scholar Award. This recognition is given to a Los Angeles County Lifeguard who has been dedicated over the course of many years and achieved significant academic excellence.
